Big John is not just a triceratops, one of the most iconic dinosaurs of all time. Big John is the largest triceratops in the world. His huge skeleton won’t end up in a museum. The fossil remains, still trapped in the hard rock, were sent from the United States, where they were discovered, in Trieste, Italy. Here an entrepreneur-geologist, Flavio Bacchia, together with his daughter and the rest of the small work team of his small company, has a few months to restore and give new life to Big John, in time for the important auction in Paris: the only opportunity to sell it. At stake is not only the great investment in money and effort, but the reputation of a long career. During these months the problems will not be lacking, from the deadline that is inexorably approaching the logistics that a dinosaur skeleton of about nine meters and more than 65 million years entails. But there will also be satisfactions, such as an important and unexpected scientific discovery.
