Luca is a problematic 17-year-old boy who lives in Udine. He feels a mysterious call that drives him to the mines of Cave del Predil, near the Italian-Slovenian border. In that place his ancestors worked as “fochini”, that means experts of explosives. Luca is claustrophobic and terrified by the dark. However, a vision warns him about a disaster that is approaching to the village. In order to prevent it, he decides to venture into the bowels of the mine challenging his worst fears. He will discover an unexpected truth about the past of his family and will re-emerge from the underground as a different person. With his actions, he will free that frontier land from a wartime threat.
