At the age of 17, Rawsht Twana finds a cardboard box full of photographic negatives in the under roof of his house. He discovers, thanks to the memories of his family, that the photographer was Twana Abdullah Wasim, his father, who was killed when he was only four years old and of whom he has few vivid memories.
Many years later, he is forced to stay in Europe, in Turin, with his father’s entire photographic archive. The huge amount of images is one of the most important sources telling the story of the Kurdish people in their homeland at the time of Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship. In reassembling the fragments of his father’s life, the son will also reconstruct his own, along with a forgotten history of the Kurdish people.
