Zeno is designing a machine that projects dreams by reading directly into his patient’s mind. Zeno’s story is therefore a story about technology and the future (à la Black Mirror), a future that is frighteningly present given the speed of technological progress. But it is above all the story of a man who is faced with one of the most difficult trials of his life, that of observing – or rather spying on – the unconscious of other human beings and in particular that of his son after an immense trauma such as the loss of his own mother. It is the story of a man who must understand, while going through the greatest pain of his and his son’s life, the limits of freedom, technology, progress and the power of human beings to control themselves.
